The War On Terror : Iraq News and Information
[Iraq News and Information] But that was not the end of the negative impacts of the war on terror, because president Bush and his administration engaged in two wars that would eventually cost the government three trillion American dollars and since a lot of it is allocated through taxation, people could not pay off their debt, mortgages, etc”¦ and with the rise of oil prices and the weakened US dollar the American economy has gone into a recession that could be considered stronger than the 1930’s. A lot of the American people, especially the educated, saw this coming an would criticize the American government for engaging in such an open-ended war, for example Timothy Garton Ash describe the war on terror in his article “The War on Terror is Over.” As an “abstract noun.” He also discussed the difference between this war previous ones that the USA engaged in by saying “It’s never been anything like the Second World War, against Hitler’s Germany, or the Cold War, against the Soviet Union.

Thursday Links: Frontline, Bushs War, Voodoo Iraq and Black Hawk Down
[20 Times Around the Block] The policy utterly failed as the insurgency was free to make its attacks on unsecured cities, particularly Baghdad, where the Iraqi forces were woefully ill-equipped to handle it. Through means of terror Al Qaeda was able to pit Sunni against Shia, almost obliterating any hope of a unified nation.

OPEM BORDERS PROVE ~ WAR ON TERROR IS A GAWD DAMN "LIE"!!!
[ILLEGAL ALIEN GANGS ARE TAKING OVER AMERICA!!!] Bush refuses to seal our borders and ports proves that whatever else he thinks he is accomplishing in Iraq, he is disingenuous when he proclaims that he is fighting a "war on terror." (Again, the country that had the closest connections to the 9/11 terrorists was Saudi Arabia, not Iraq. If fighting the terrorists was the focus, why did Bush not attack Saudi Arabia?)

Academic analyst quoted in foreign newspaper: War in Iraq has ...
![]()
[michellemalkin.com] I think this should be the lead thread (I hope I got that right)instead of whether McCain saw the ad before commenting on it. The American people need to stay focused on the war on terror and how it’s effecting our standing in the free world.

US military school calls Iraq war a debacle
[National Post - Top Stories] Apart from the deaths of more than 4,000 U.S. military personnel and about 82,000 Iraqi civilians, the war is costing US$10-billion a month while diminishing the United States's standing internationally, straining its military and diverting "manpower, materiel and the attention of decision-makers" involved in the war on terror, the study says.

“Last Throes” One Year Later
[IntoxiNation] to Cheney means they were half way through their run of terror. Of course if the Pentagon is publicly saying they would last until next year, that means we will still be hearing about these attacks five years from now.

Bring it on
[Why are all the good names gone...?] The insurgents have been forced from direct confrontation in most provinces back to hit and run terror attacks. People have increasingly begun to turn to both Iraqi security forces and Coalition forces as a source of protection and support - the insurgents offer no coherent political solution. The worst damage being done is caused by extremists from out of the country - but even they are forced to fall back on a terror campaign designed more to gather news coverage than actually convince Iraq's populace that they have a chance of 'winning' anything other than martyrdom.
