Home.egge.net[Home.egge.net] Stu Savory's Blog - January 2004: This little thumbnail humour assumes you know a) that CinC Dubya was once a Leutenant in the US Reserves (National Guard) - abbreviated LUSR - who went AWOL, and b) the Purple Heart is a US medal awarded for merely being present on the front (cf. the turkey's trip), and c) you recognise Campaign Candy when you see it.

http://billtotten.blogspot.com [Billtotten.blogspot.com] Bill Totten's Weblog: September 2005: In the months ahead, as the administration attempts to fund a $200 billion rebuilding effort in the Gulf on the back of the Iraq occupation and record deficits, and as the Fed responds to the inflationary pressure of high energy prices by continuing to raise interest rates, we are likely to see the US descend into economic turmoil, with higher levels of unemployment and high relative prices for food, transportation fuel, electricity, and natural gas for home heating. The airline industry is at risk and we will probably see at least one more major carrier (in addition to Delta and Northwest, which filed this month) enter bankruptcy before year's end.

Blogs.herald.com[Blogs.herald.com] Dave Barry's Blog: A GOOD NAME FOR CHER'S BACKUP DANCERS: Speaking of berserkers, in the early days of this blog before "comments" capability, I submitted items to Dave using the names "viking girl" and "norsky" which is really of no consequence, since Dave didn't post any of them. Point being, that I had planned to use some sort of heritage-related moniker, but the first time I deblurked and posted something on the MB, I just kind of forgot and used my actual name.

[Moonofalabama.org] M of A - Off Topics - Open Thread: All the fieldcraft, the military dispositions, the patrol patterns, the preferences for 'X' or 'Y' ambushes according to topography and terrain, the set-piece responses to Iraqi Resistance ambushes, the set-piece responses and disposition of troops during bomb alerts, protests, post-attack incidents et cetera, the intelligence gathering briefings, the weak spots on Humvees and Strykers, the armaments of each tank, fighting vehicle and platoon, the bomb disposal techniques, the communications techniques and channels - all this information is leaking out of the gate and into the clandestine training programs of the Iraqi Resistance with each wave of desertions.
