Iraq Reviews > Signs of a Draft or Just My Paranoia?

[Michael Gorsuch: Hey, I'm Just Sayin'] NPR reported today on the woes of military recruitment. It seems that they haven't seen such hard times in over 30 years (I wonder why) and that they do not believe that they will even come close to what they need.

Jimpinto.com[Jimpinto.com] JimPinto Weblog - ABB: ABB has admitted that its very survival is threatened by its ongoing American asbestos court case. In a document filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), ABB complained that a drawn-out appeals process against a settlement sanctioned last month could make it impossible to raise fresh capital. ABB said in the filing: "If we are unable to reduce our indebtedness, we may be unable to fund our obligations when due and may therefore be unable to continue as a going concern."

The Army rejected claims by Democrats that the Bush administration had provided favorable treatment to KBR because of Vice President Dick Cheney’s past association with Halliburton.

It's probably my old eighth grade paranoia, but I feel like I must guard myself and put on a pretty face, complete with mascara (make-up has become my salvation now that I'm nearly 40). I need to keep my true self quiet and secluded.

http://www.orangeukraine.squarespace.com [Orangeukraine.squarespace.com] Orange Ukraine - Journal of Ukrainian Current Events: Pora is still around, or at least the people in the organization are still around. However, during the events in the fall, a second group calling itself Pora also appeared (the original being "Black Pora [ru]" the newer one "Yellow Pora"). Since January the split between the two Poras has made it difficult for the group to establish a Pora party line even though they now have a political party [ru] because at least some would like to get into the Parliament [ru] in the March 2006 election.
