Iraq Reviews > Rocky election day in Iraq

http://robschumacher.blogspot.com [The Online Magazine formerly known as Rob's Blog] Iraq's Sunni Arab minority made a violent reentry into politics Friday, bombing offices of a political party that urged support for a new U.S.-backed constitution while posting insurgents and tribal fighters at some polling places to ensure that Sunni voters could vote safely Saturday against the proposed charter. *Sigh* I was hoping for a passage to this constitution, but given the Sunni feelings on it, I don't know...it's entirely possible it will be rejected.

For the first six phases of the program (each phase lasting six months), Iraq was allowed to export limited amounts of oil in exchange for food, medicine, and some infrastructure spare parts.
