Questions Rise About Downing Street Memos

[Jay Reding.com] We now know that his WMD arsenal was probably destroyed, but we also know that Hussein had maintained the capability to restart his programs, and that he was certainly developing banned missile technology. The question of whether or not Saddam Hussein violated UN Security Council Resolution 1441 is not under debate —

Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

[Chapomatic] Argumentation and Failure: He had good links with the toppled Saddam Hussein who oppressed these Shiites. He sumpathized with the agenda of the region’s Arab Sunnis, which was in conflict with that of the Arab Shiites.

Acepilots.comhttp://www.acepilots.com [Acepilots.com] Friends of Saddam: Fox News reporters reviewed documentary evidence that Stephanides had acted on the Lloyd's Register Oil-for-Food contract only after receiving higher-level UN authorization for his actions. Our own Contributing Expert, Victor Comras was the first to question the Volcker Commission findings against Stephanides and to challenge the UN's decision to summarily dismiss him.

Saddamhussein.blogspot.comhttp://saddamhussein.blogspot.com [Saddamhussein.blogspot.com] Saddam's Cyber Palace: By now the whole stinkin' world is aware of the so-called "Downing Street Memo." That's the one the British government prepared in July of 2002--eight months before the unlawful invasion of my peace loving* nation--that said the "intelligence and facts were being fixed" by the United States in order to justify the upcoming war. This document only recently came to light, but there has been a surprising lack of outrage over it.

Hightower.fmp.com[Hightower.fmp.com] Jim Hightower's Weblog: In April the General Accounting Office (since renamed the Government Accountability Office) published a report claiming that the Oil for Food (OFF) program had been rife with corruption and that through smuggling and kickbacks, Saddam Hussein had managed to acquire more than $10 billion in illicit funds. A series of Congressional investigations followed, featuring conservative witnesses who pilloried the UN for incompetence, corruption and general unfitness.

Blogsforbush.comhttp://www.blogsforbush.com [Blogsforbush.com] Blogs for Bush: I can do that: The terrorists we have detained at Guantanamo Bay are the sort of people who would cut your head off with a dull knife and shout "God is great!" while they did it - for our Democrats to have any kind word to say about the detainees or any bad word to say about how the detainees are treated is tantmount to saying "I wish these terrorists could walk free to kill again". You have to be a purblind fool to think that these terrorists should be released, or even accorded legal representation in American courts of law - these are outlaws in the original sense of the word: Men who have, by their actions, removed themselves from the protections of civilization and may therefore be dealt with summarily as civilized people determine.
