Iraq Reviews > Political Cortex: Britain Launches Inquiry into Iraq War

[Political Cortex]  Then the Iraq War mission suddenly changed from a defensive war to protect the U.S. from those awful weapons of mass destruction and a nuclear holocaust to a freedom and democracy war for Iraq and the entire Middle East.  The delusional rantings succeeded in keeping the billions in U.S. taxpayers' dollars continuing the Iraq War debacle.

[1 Boring Old Man] 1 Boring Old Man » Iraq War: Cheney's folly”¦: like James Comey, would be selected as a special prosecutor to examine the voluminous records of theBush/Cheney administration for any and all misjudgement of justice for the sake of our country and the world so that this terrible history will never happen again. Cheney took our country and ignored our laws giving a pen and paper to one of his servants John Yoo who actually took down dictation to say it was legal under the law.

[Sic Semper Tyrannis] Sic Semper Tyrannis : Iraq and the Neocon Delusion: Iran legally owns 1/2 of the Straits and has the legal right to give or deny passage to any transiting vessel (both above and beneath). Subs are required by International Sea Laws to surface and fly their flag when transiting the Straits, but few below surface vessels ever do.

[ENDAblog] Countdown with Keith Olbermann: 2003-2009 « ENDAblog: Actually, I’ll pause here.  This is also a bit of false equivalency.  Olbermann simply seems to have a problem with putting on the brakes when he’s on a roll.  He’s a true scholar of sports (particularly baseball) and his actual intelligence shows constantly.  As far as I know he only has a bachelors degree (from Cornell) but the way he articulately uses it to ’put up’ should long ago have caused Bill-O and his alleged Ph.D.

As Bob Herbert has written, "There is no credible evidence against Jawad, and his torture-induced confession has rightly been ruled inadmissible by a military judge.

[Mondoweiss] 'New Yorker' Editor: Israel and Lobby Bear Responsibility for Iraq War: On 16 August 2002, 11 days before Dick Cheney kicked off the campaign for war with a hardline speech to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Washington Post reported that ”˜Israel is urging US officials not to delay a military strike against Iraq’s Saddam Hussein.’ By this point, according to Sharon, strategic co-ordination between Israel and the US had reached ”˜unprecedented dimensions’, and Israeli intelligence officials had given Washington a variety of alarming reports about Iraq’s WMD programmes. As one retired Israeli general later put it, ”˜Israeli intelligence was a full partner to the picture presented by American and British intelligence regarding Iraq’s non-conventional capabilities.’

[The Daily Blague] The Daily Blague » Blog Archive » Daily Office: Tuesday: (In fact the only weapons the U.S. did not use in Indochina were nuclear.) Within the liberal establishment, on the other hand, a lone-assassin theory is preferred: as with the Iraq War, where the blame is placed on Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, so with Vietnam the culprit of choice has become Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara.

[Centurean2's Weblog] Labour/Fabian £186 Billion Benefits Madness”¦25% Of All Government ...: Those who absurdly accuse me of seeking to help New Labour or of supporting Mr Brown should know that I am probably the most consistent and dedicated foe of New Labour, that my 1999 book ”˜The Abolition of Britain’ was described by Andrew Marr (no less) as the “most sustained, internally logical and powerful attack on Tony Blair and all his works”, that I refused to toady to Anthony Blair when many other conservative commentators were doing so, that I criticised Mr Brown’s bad stewardship of the economy, when many conservatives were praising him, that I deliberately embarrassed Mr Brown by asking him to reveal if his son had been given the MMR injection he urges on other parents (he never responded) and that New Labour blame me (exaggeratedly, but flatteringly) for helping to lose them the 1992 election (the ”˜Jennifer’s Ear’ affair) and regard me ( accurately) as a dedicated enemy. At the press conference launching the New Labour 1997 manifesto, two press officers, seeing me approach the auditorium, tried to close the door in my face, claiming the room was ”˜full’.

[Cafe Talk Aggregator] Why is President Obama Losing Momentum in the Polls? | Wattree's Blog: Obama campaigned dishonestly as an agent of change because that is what he perceived was the winning message but he has governed as an agent of the status quo in all respects. People seem to want to deny that very apparent truth, but the facts are the facts and the excuses won't work forever to gloss over his excuses for not doing what he said he would and what the people were expecting of him.

[Docudharma - Front Page] Docudharma:: More Progressive Plan: But after the 2006 midterm elections, and Democrats seized back Congress, the netroots was struck by a hard and cold reality: The Democrats we had worked so hard to put in office were, on such critical issues as economic justice, constitutional rights, investigating the White House and our illegal war in Iraq, not much better than the Republicans we had just defeated. So after one failure after another, and as the policies of the Bush administration continued unimpeded, a new mantra began to emerge: better Dems.

[Queerty] SHOCK: Are U.S. Soldiers Responsible for Executing Iraq's Gays ...: I know to someone who has no idea what the Iraqi people can be like may see this as somewhat legit and worth investigating. What you do not realize is how ignorant the vast majority of the population is, I was shown an edited video of a jet plane taking off from under the ocean a few days ago by an Iraqi officer and was told that it was a secret Iranian plane being launched to attack Iraq.
