Iraq Reviews > OPEM BORDERS PROVE ~ WAR ON TERROR IS A GAWD DAMN "LIE"!!!
[ILLEGAL ALIEN GANGS ARE TAKING OVER AMERICA!!!] Bush refuses to seal our borders and ports proves that whatever else he thinks he is accomplishing in Iraq, he is disingenuous when he proclaims that he is fighting a "war on terror." (Again, the country that had the closest connections to the 9/11 terrorists was Saudi Arabia, not Iraq. If fighting the terrorists was the focus, why did Bush not attack Saudi Arabia?)

[Mazin's Blog] Ratcheting Up for War On Iran: Then came Cheney’s Middle East tour with likely indications of its purpose - oil, Israeli interests and, of course, isolating Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas further, and rallying support for more war in a region where Arab states want to end the current ones. What worries them most, or should, is the possibility that Washington will use nuclear weapons.

[Niqnaq] joschka fischer article referenced by others: The rise of Iran poses an existential threat to Saudi Arabia, because the countrys oil-rich northeast is populated by a Shia majority. A Shia government in Baghdad, dominated by Iran, would, in the medium term, threaten Saudi Arabias territorial integrity”a scenario that the Saudis cannot, and will not, accept.
[Battalion Of Deborah] "War On Terror" Is Superficial: The American people were led to believe that America's fine men and women in uniform were sent halfway around the world to Iraq and Afghanistan to fight a "war on terror." Of course, everyone now knows that Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with the attacks on September 11, 2001. I am sure that most everyone also remembers that the vast majority of the terrorists who participated in those attacks were from Saudi Arabia, not Iraq.

[brothersjudd Blog] THE COLLAPSING CAVE:: “We have only three or four instances of violence in our history, mainly assassinations.” He added, “Those were individual instances and we condemned them as a group.” But, in addition to the killings of political figures, terrorist attacks on the Jewish community in Cairo, and the attempted murder of Nasser, members of the Muslim Brotherhood took part in arson that destroyed some seven hundred and fifty buildings”mainly night clubs, theatres, hotels, and restaurants”in downtown Cairo in 1952, an attack that marked the end of the liberal, progressive, cosmopolitan direction that Egypt might have chosen. (The Muslim Brotherhood also created Hamas, which employs many of the same tactics now condemned by the Islamic Group.) And yet, unlike other radical movements, the Brotherhood has embraced political change as the only legitimate means to the goal of achieving an Islamic state.
