http://ohhowilovejesus.com [Oh How I Love Jesus] Al-Jazeera aired the video (of course) but did not play the audio portion. I guess if he’d been a westerner we’d have heard the threats.

Radio Blogger: It is a sensible, and I think essential measure at a time of war, especially given the fact that we are in such desperate need of dot connection, as we see more and more evidence, not least, by the way, Hugh, in Great Britain recently, where the security services acknowledged that the terrorists that they were supposedly aware of, but not tracking terribly carefully, who wound up blowing themselves up last July, or making calls that might have given them some indications of what these guys had in mind, to places like Pakistan. That's the sort of dot connecting we need to be doing in this country.

He said Osthoff had converted to Islam and chosen "Iraq as her homeland."

[GOP Vixen] Lesson to anti-war activists: Terrorists hate... : Al-Jazeera aired a video of four hostages -- one Brit, one American, two Canadians -- released by a group calling themselves the Swords of the Righteous Brigade, whose Handycam-ish date stamp indicates lower production value than the newly PR-slick al-Qaida. Their kidnappers have demanded that Germany close its Baghdad embassy and cut ties with Iraq in exchange for the hostages' lives, said Al Jazeera.

Talkleft.comhttp://talkleft.com [Talkleft.com] Al Jazeera: Italian Hostage Killed on Tape - TalkLeft: The ...: Al-Jazeera had their reporter literally embedded in the middle of the chaos- and I don't mean the lame embedded western journalists type of thing they had going at the beginning of the war (you know- embedded in the Green Zone and embedded in Kuwait, etc.). Ahmed Mansur, I believe his name was, was actually standing there, in the middle of the bombing, shouting to be heard over the F-16s and helicopters blasting away at houses and buildings.

http://www.usefulwork.com [Usefulwork.com] Shark Blog: Al Jazeera Barbarians: If there was a violation of the Geneva Convention (which I am not sure if Iraq even signed) then that violation was done by the Iraqi military that *allowed* the filming of the bodies and captured POW's, you can't blame Al Jazeera for doing exactly what CNN would have done (and did) last week in showing the video. That said, I think the main damage done by showing these pictures is that the American servicemen see them and are made even more apprehensive about the people they encounter in Iraq (civilian or soldiers..how do they tell the difference?) the point is, now is when the coalition soldiers start to get meaner, when cameras are not on them they may do questionable things...hopefully there will be few occurances of soldiers "letting loose" but the anger inspired by these released images certianly makes the possibility more likely.

Officials said that in the 18-minute long tape ”” of which only six minutes were aired on the al-Jazeera Arab television network in the Middle East on Friday ”” bin Laden bemoans the recent democratic elections in Afghanistan and the lack of violence involved with it.
