[California Conservative] AP reports: “Investigators of the U.N. oil-for-food program said Tuesday they are “urgently reviewing” new information that suggests U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan may have known more than he revealed about a contract that was awarded to the company that employed his son.”

[Kittynest.blogspot.com] The Kitten's Nest: [Blog Stuff] Small hiatus...: My original point, though, and the real thrust of this post, is that leaving the Declaration of Independence and the Federalist Papers and Common Sense and the like out of a lesson plan simply because it mentions God is going bugfuck, regardless of the orientation or problems with the teacher. That's playing revisionism with history simply because the teacher can't leave his faith out of his lesson plan, and the kids are the losers.

The Sheriff's plan for the arena (even that sounds bizarre) is, very succinctly, to annex 10,000 acres of unincorporated, undeveloped farm land and sell it off to developers, using part of the proceeds to fund an arena (at an as yet undetermined locale) as well as many other public works that are more palatable but will be used far less than an arena. To please the environmentalists the plan would also call for 10,000 additional acres on the Sacramento river to be set aside and protected from commercial development.
