[The Page 99 Test] The real tragedy [of 9/11/2001] was compounded by media hysteria that included the infamous CNN advisory for New Yorkers to use plastic and duct-tape to seal themselves inside their apartments to prevent the effects of chemical weapons. In addition to the real horror of the attacks of September 11th, was the imagined horror of media speculations on what could happen if terrorists attacked nuclear power plants, or released bio-pathogens into drinking water, or detonated chemical weapons in subways.

[Sadly, No!] Super Wingnut: Rich Lowry (Part III): “[Haditha] will be treated as the story of the century, or at least the biggest story since Abu Ghraib. Souls will be searched, hands wrung, and overly broad statements about our stained national honor made.
[Windows Live space] Gaza: Apocalypse now!: As all of us watched recently on CNN, BBC and Aljazeera news networks, Gaza was subjected to a new style of Holocaust, what the Gazans people have to counter the IDFs state of the art high-tech weapons with?
[Gossip Rocks Forum] President George Bush's final State of the Union Address: Imagine those 19 hijackers with other weapons and other plans, this time armed by Saddam Hussein. It would take one vial, one canister, one crate slipped into this country to bring a day of horror like none we have ever known.
[ibrattleboro Feed] Blackout of Kucinich, Hiring of Falsifier Kristol, NY Times Losing ...: U.S. Director of Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance Paul Bremer's role in selling off Iraq's assets and postponing elections, provoking a Shiite rebellion which cost many lives on both sides. When elections were finally allowed, the Times hyped them with an infantile hailing of the birth of a democracy, oblivious to the political trauma and U.S. policies of interference and power
[The Place I'll Return To, Someday] Republicanos en California: I instead have pointed out time and time again, and let me make it absolutely clear again tonight, I will not pull our troops out until we have brought success in Iraq, and that means, for me, that we do not have safe havens for al Qaeda or Hezbollah or anyone else, that our troops have secured the population from that kind of threat, that they will not have safe havens from which they could launch attacks against us.
[Savoir-Fair, Handyman Services] Hillary Clinton is a Communist!: The story ran on the CBS News website under the headline, “Bush Knew Iraq Info Was False.” The headline was later changed to, “Bush Knew Iraqi Info Was Dubious.” These headlines are false. This is all about Bushs statement in the State of the Union address that, “The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.” The problem is that the CIA signed off on Bushs statement without confirming it, and Director George Tenet said it shouldnt have been in the speech.

The fact that, more than two years after you made your idiotic comment, you haven’t bothered to correct yourself, and still use the word “Orwellian,”
[THE "G" BLOG @wordpress.com] The Politics Of Body Counts: An Iraq Body Count analysis showed that the Lancet II numbers would have meant that 1,000 Iraqis were dying every day during the first half of 2006, “with less than a tenth of them being noticed by any public surveillance mechanisms.” The February 2006 bombing of the Golden Mosque is widely credited with plunging Iraq into civil war, yet the Lancet II report posits the equivalent of five to 10 bombings of this magnitude in Iraq every day for three years.
[tramadolplus blog] Transcript of Thursdays Democratic presidential debate: CLINTON: Well, we disagree on this. I do not think that it is either appropriate to give a driver’s license to someone who is here undocumented, putting them, frankly, at risk, because that is clear evidence that they are not here legally, and I believe it is a diversion from what should be the focus at creating a political coalition with the courage to stand up and change the immigration system.
[portland indymedia - 9.11 investigation newswire] Who is Dick Cheney?: The existence of a June 2002 memorevealing that intelligence from the INC was being sent directly to the offices of Dick Cheney and William Lutiis reported in the December 15 issue of Newsweek magazine, which also reports that Francis Brooke, a DC lobbyist for the INC, admits having supplied Cheney's office with information pertaining to Iraq's alleged arsenal of weapons of mass destruction and Saddam's supposed ties to militant Islamic groups. [CEASE FIRE IRAQ] ABOUT A CEASE FIRE: Most often, whatever the rhetoric, wars end when armies put down their weapons and begin to talk. There was a negotiated end to the war in Vietnam and the Iran/Iraq War, and the first Gulf War ended when Saddam Hussein negotiated an end to the war with the United Nations.
