It’s ok to eat “french fries” again

[Clean Cut Kid] So as President Bush addresses the nation today in front of the men and women in uniform at Camp LeJeune, remember the Republican Congressman from that district is calling on him to “set a plan and a date to begin reducing the number of troops we have in Iraq.”

The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweilerhttp://www.nicedoggie.net  The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: Which is why, however perverse this may sound, the absence of an antiwar movement is proving to be a huge political problem for the Bush administration, and why the Republicans are reduced to trying to turn Dick Durbin, who criticized our policies at Guantanamo Bay, into some enemy of the people. http://buckmulligan.blogspot.com  Proof Through the Night: Bob Pruett, chair of neighboring Carteret County, and a 25-year veteran of the Marine Corps, said he was overwhelmed by the number of people who called him after Jones made his remarks. He said the general reaction wasn't that Jones called for the withdrawal of troops -- "which all of us of course want as soon as possible" -- but that it "sent the wrong message to the enemy" and worried veterans there might be a return to the Vietnam situation. http://burnbush.blogspot.com [Burning Bush] NeoCon War Crimes vs. Madder than Hell World: Thus, while you, dear reader, do not need your proof of Bushian mendacity neatly laid out, it seems plenty of other Americans do. Perhaps it has been your fervent hope that when/if such CliffsNotes-style confirmation appeared, 1) the corporate media would have no choice but to feature it, 2) the country would be awash in the beautiful, unmistakable sound of millions of pounds of fresh gray matter being opened and newly activated, 3) the Bushies would be brought down under pressure and rightly tried as war criminals, 4) and we could all throw a hella big-ass party and be all giggly for a few months, at least.

http://mcsey.com/blog [mcSey] Operation Yellow Elephant continues: I gotta tell ya that was a real blow and I got more than a little weepy after that. It's so frustrating trying to be brave and stay the course when everybody seems to be turning all sissy mary on me.

Bestoftheblogs.com[Bestoftheblogs.com] Best of the Blogs: "With numbers like that, is there really any reason imaginable reason (sic) why any Democrat should feel even the slightest need to move even an inch toward accommodation with President Bush's agenda of phasing out Social Security? How unpopular would a president need to be before his unpopularity made it safe to follow the dictates of your own principles?"

Washingtonpost.comhttp://www.washingtonpost.com [Washingtonpost.com] White House Briefing News on President George W Bush and the ...: Bradley Graham writes in The Washington Post that Abizaid yesterday "offered an assessment of the Iraqi insurgency that contrasted with more optimistic portrayals by some administration officials. He said that the resistance remains about as strong as it was six months ago and acknowledged the possibility that enemy fighters still have sufficient reserves to mount 'a military surprise' such as a surge in coordinated attacks.

[Iraqwarnews.net] Iraq War Today: James Hepper, a gunner assigned to 1st Battalion, 13th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Armored Division, keeps a close watch out for any hostile activities during a raid of an abandoned factory suspected of being used to make improvised explosive devices in Taji, Iraq, June 8, 2005. The factory was once a chemical weapons manufacturing plant.

Andrewsullivan.comhttp://www.andrewsullivan.com [Andrewsullivan.com] www.AndrewSullivan.com - Daily Dish: (My conservative critics on the subject of homosexuality, for example, rarely point out that I oppose all hate crime laws, have opposed laws forbidding workplace discrimination, and supported the right of both the Boy Scouts and the St Patrick's Day parade for discriminating against gays as private associations.) Moreover, when Christians form a majority, it's understandable that much public symbolism will be redolent of Christian imagery and language. Secularists who want to stamp this stuff out seem to me to be lacking in the virtue of moderation - and they have helped spawn the intolerance that now flows back from the other side.
