THE DALY SHOW[THE DALY SHOW] Boot Camp For Congress: I just read an interesting Wall Street Journal Op-ed piece from March 15, 2008 by South Carolina Mark Sanford, who endorses John McCain. Governor Sanford cites the efforts of U.S. Comptroller David Walker, the only honest man in Washington in my opinion, to educate America on the fiscal disaster looming in the next five to ten years.

My Daily Rant ....http://mydailyrantandrave.wordpress.com/2008/02/22/and-another-thing/ [My Daily Rant ....] And another thing ”¦.: I have been amazed at all the whining people are doing lately.  We live in the best country in the world, and yet everyone thinks our government stinks, the economy is failing, the war in Iraq is a disaster, our health care system sucks, and our housing “crisis” is going to ruin us.  We can all thank the media for this.  They are hell-bent on convincing us that the present administration has failed us, just so they can usher in their own set of cronies under the pretense of “change”.  In reality, our government is probably the best in the world.  They’ve protected us from terrorism on our soil since 9/11, and driven those dirt bags back to their holes in the mountains.  Our economy is just fine.  My business had the best year ever last year, despite my lack of focus (the house build has consumed a large portion of my time).  The war in Iraq continues to drag on, but we all knew it would, and from all accounts, great progress has been made there.  Had we not taken action, we could easily be paying $10 a gallon for gasoline.  Our health care system is the envy of the world, as evidenced by all the people coming HERE for treatment.  Yes, health care costs have risen, but so has the quality of care, and life expectancies have never been higher.  And, anyone who DOESN’T have a health care plan gets treated anyway.  What’s so wrong with that?  And this housing thing …

ContextPerception[ContextPerception] Jim's Food for Thought: "Rather than celebrating the decision to go to war, we lament the suffering and violence in Iraq. We mourn the nearly 4,000 Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis who have died, the unknown numbers of both who are wounded in body and mind, and the more than 4 million Iraqis who are displaced from their homes.
