Iraq Reviews > House and Senate Approve Resolution For GWOT
[The Right State] Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky! I love it. In a nutshell, this is what the vote was all about: put up or shut up! But when push came to shove, the Democrats couldnt take the heat. Many were scrambling for cover as fast as they could. To the Democratic Party, what this whole issue is about is talking points to their base. Their hard left loud fringe base likes to be mollified by leftist politicians. Its like a school yard kid telling his friends how he is going to punch out another boy. But when it gets down to crunch time, he is nowhere to be seen. The Democratic Party does not want their votes counted on this issue. They just like to talk. They know middle America supports the war and our troops. By voting against the war, Democrats in red states would lose a lot of votes.
