Iraq Reviews > Eunomia » Revisiting The Iraq War Debate

[Eunomia] Pro-war conservatives preferred to fixate on the latter because these arguments made it easier to demonize the antiwar position in the eyes of other conservatives, most of whom support the empire and would be happy to serve Israeli interests (which many of them readily conflate with our own), but they never made much of a case that these arguments were wrong, much less obviously “kooky.” Yes, of course, pro-war conservatives believe them to be kooky, but these people also usually believe that the Iraq war was a vital and necessary campaign of national defense and some of them still hang on to the fiction that invading Iraq without cause had something to do with anti-terrorism, which are ideas so far removed from reality that one might almost call them kooky.

[US News] "Crazy, kooky" Paul Wins CPAC Straw Poll: Columnist and frequent talk-show commentator Anne Coulter, whose hawkish views on foreign and military policy are clearly at odds with Paul's non-interventionist stance, acknowledged Paul and his followers in her remarks at the conferencing, drawing cheers when she said she agreed with the Texas Congressman on everything but foreign policy. TV and radio talk-show host Glenn Beck, who wowed the crowd on Saturday night by comparing the Washington beltway Republicans to alcoholics addicted to reckless spending, has said on his radio program that Paul "has total credence when it comes to the economy.

[Mediaite] CPAC's Maddow-Love Doesn't Extend Both Ways | Mediaite: We were as surprised as anyone to learn yesterday that the reception for Rachel Maddow’s at the Conservative Political Action Conference wasn’t just civil, it was downright friendly. And while there, Maddow was as sweet as pie…so much so that Andrew Breitbart asked her why she was being so nice “to a bunch of Nazis?”

[Michelle Malkin] Michelle Malkin » An inconvenient question about the Mount Vernon ...: Norquist, who previously has denied any suggestion that his work facilitated any wrongdoing, not only introduced Alamoudi to Washington GOP power circles but also Sammy Al Arian, whom prosecutors arrested earlier this year for alleged terrorist activities. Federal law-enforcement sources say they are focusing on some of Norquist’s associates and financial ties to terrorist groups.

[The Stranger, Seattle's Only Newspaper] Why I'm Not For Obama | Slog | The Stranger | Seattle's Only Newspaper: I'll vote for any of them in November (unless of course Ron Paul gets the Republican nomination) but let's face it, Hilary Clinton is an opportunistic fraud who rode her husband's coat tails to a New York senate seat (and who is still riding those coat tails, guess she never heard that "sisters are doing it for themselves") and John Edwards is nothing more than a southern pretty boy with nice hair who will say anything to become president, a Democratic version of Mitt Romney, minus the magic Mormon underwear.

[Rand Paul :: Too Kooky For Kentucky] Rand Paul :: Too Kooky For Kentucky » Blog Archive » Rand Paul ...: Rand Paul falls down in each of the above and would, accordingly, not be eligible for party financing.  Beyond the financing issues, however, the bigger issue here is Paul’s philosophy.  Some of the most conservatives in America have sat down and made a very inclusive list of their top priorities and Paul’s against at least three of them.

[NewsReal Blog] Ron Paul Emerging as Ross Perot's Doppelganger | NewsReal Blog: I've no problem going back to having our currency backed by something of concrete value, and paul's domestic policies are at least preferable to socialism, but his foreign policy is fatally flawed. His giving aid (his vote) and comfort (his parroting the jihadi dar al haarb line, while completely ignoring their dar al islam line) to our enemies while our troops are in the field fighting them is beyond the pale and he'll never again ( in 88, when Bush had Dukakis beat handily in my state) get my vote.

[Video Cafe's feed] Sarah Palin's National Tea Party Convention Speech Scares the Hell ...: But as you point out, her Alaska position -- even on the political correctness question, whether she`s talking about Rahm`s language or calling other folks kooky, I -- I -- you know, again, the inconsistencies are enough to put a Hummer through it.

[Conservative Blog Watch] Matthews Attacks Palin for 12 Minutes: 'Can a Palm Reader be ...: WOLFFE: I don`t even think she`s being consistent with those folks because Chris Wallace at Fox asked some great questions, and one of them was, Look, Bill Kristol isn`t happy with you, you supporting Rand Paul, and he doesn`t like any of this foreign war stuff.

[race42008.com] race42008.com » Blog Archive » A Question for Ron Paul: “Neoconservatism is a political philosophy that emerged in the United States of America, and which supports using American economic and military power to bring liberalism, democracy, and human rights to other countries.[1][2][3] Consequently the term is chiefly applicable to certain Americans and their strong supporters. In economics, unlike traditionalist conservatives, neoconservatives are generally comfortable with a welfare state;

[Liberal Values] » Many Libertarians Shocked By Exposure of Paul's Relationship To ...: Most importantly, Paul is a radical far-right libertarian extremist who wants to dismantle most of the federal government. If Paul is elected and has his way, say goodbye to environmental protection, student loans and grants, anti-trust laws, food stamps, public schools, minimum wage laws, national parks, social security, gun control laws, Medicaid (with even more millions of people uninsured), etc.

[Hot Air » Top Picks] Hot Air » Blog Archive » Video: No civilian trials for enemy ...: This shows me that although Rand is conservative, he is less so that his father. There’s only one Ron Paul, and it’s too bad that some are saying he is getting too old to run for President in 2012, just as his ideas are becoming slowly but surely more accepted by the American people.

[Newsweek Blogs] Poll Suggests GOPers Are Edging Toward the Extreme - The Gaggle ...:  What I am talking about is the skewed results you get from African Americans who support Obama no matter what.  That number can easily be found if you look for it, and if you compare that data against White/Hispanic/Other Politicans with similar views to his own, you will find that there is a very consistent (not spurious) shift of about 20% favoring him.
