Iraq Reviews > Egypt Ignores Islamic Threat The Gets Hit With Terrorism Tragedy

[ Voteswagon] Egypt thought they could not address the radical Islamic movement growing in their country but their fatal mistake cost tens to hundreds of innocent lives and shame on the Arab community for tolerating this kind of action in any form. Arab communities try to walk the thin line of crying that they are being oppressed and stereotyped well also not speaking out in regards to the terrorism they are being grouped in with.

[Peace Like A River] Monday Winds of War Briefing: * On Monday, more than 10,000 officers from the Russian Federal Security Service, the Interior and Defense ministries and other security bodies will take part in security exercises in southern Russia. The exercise will include repelling a mock attack and carrying out search and destroy operations against a small group of targets.

[Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying] Osama Bin Laden’s Long War: The United States participated in the support of bin Laden and the rise of al Qaeda with full knowledge and understanding that this support of these radicals would lead to trouble for the United States in the future. When asked in 1998 after the bombing of the U.S. embassies in Africa if he had any regrets in sanctioning U.S. support for bin Laden and the Taliban, the ever confused and factually challenged Senator from Utah, the inimitable Orrin Hatch, replied that "It was worth it".

When previous atrocities were perpetrated, the PA - from whose bailiwick the mass-murderers set out, where they were brainwashed and trained and where the infrastructure for their operations flourished - issued obligatory wan denunciations of the deeds.

[Juancole.com] Informed Comment: Since the US Coalition Provisional Authority essentially stole $9 billion from Iraq to run itself and the country the first year, basically the $9 billion actually spent on reconstruction by the US was little more than a repayment of the money taken (quite illegally under the law of Occupation), and the actual US investment in Iraq is zero. While the American public is being taxed to pay a bill for Iraq mounting toward $1 trillion (and Americans are nowadays staring the tax man in the face), that appears to go mostly to finance continued search and destroy missions that are probably mostly failures as counter insurgency.

[Onearabworld.blog.com] One Arab World: The parallels drawn throughout the book are very loosely veiled making this book doubly interesting for Egyptians or people with a good understanding of the real connection. Though the translation was impeccable and really brings out the message while retaining the subtlety I can’t wait to read the original;
