[WorldbbNews] Eliza Manningham-Buller at the Iraq inquiry - live: In their assessment International Terrorism:War with Iraq, dated 10 February 2003, the [joint intelligence committee] reported that there was no intelligence that Iraq had provided [chemical and biological] materials to al-Qaida or of Iraqi intentions to conduct CB terrorist attacks using Iraqi intelligence officials or their agents. However, it judged that in the event of imminent regime collapse there would be a risk of transfer of such material, whether or not as a deliberate Iraqi regime policy.

[Feministing] Rape as a weapon of war in Iraq - Feministing: But until Bush and the rest are ready to admit that this illegal and immoral invasion is not winning us the hearts and minds of Iraqis, is not defeating the insurgency, is not making us safer at home, and is sending our mentally and physically depleted soldiers to the brink, we will continue to learn of such terrible atrocities. Take a look at Truthout or Common Dreams if you want to learn more.

[Liberal Conspiracy] Will Labour MPs now admit invading Iraq destabilised the UK ...: On the basis of the information publicly available, there is no justification under international law for the use of military force against Iraq. The UN charter outlaws the use of force with only two exceptions: individual or collective self-defence in response to an armed attack and action authorised by the security council as a collective response to a threat to the peace, breach of the peace or act of aggression.

[Cedric's Big Mix] "Iraq snapshot" (The Common Ills): Under the non-profit tent @ the Camden, NJ -- Warped Tour - Matthis Chiroux (the Iraq War resister), Jessica, and I embraced the 95 degree weather to set up the World Can't Wait table and meet young people to bring the We Are Not Your Soldiers Tour to their school, town, or wherever. It was an unbearably hot day, but it was a pretty amazing day, because we talked to hundreds of kids, passed out flyers, and posted flyers around the venue.

[Stephen M. Walt] Lee Smith's Hatchet Job | Stephen M. Walt: “The thesis according to which the danger of genocide hung over us in June 1967, and according to which Israel was fighting for her very physical survival, was nothing but a bluff which was born and bred after the war.” In a radio debate Peled said: “Israel was never in real danger and there was no evidence that Egypt had any intention of attacking Israel.” He added, “Israeli intelligence knew that Egypt was not prepared for war.”

[The Common Ills] Come Undone « The Common Ills: Lady Manningham-Buller agreed that the invasion of Iraq in 2003, coming two years after the attack on Afghanistan, was seen by many British Muslims as part of a more general attack on Islam, an argument that the Labour government which launched the war refused to accept publicly for years. 'Arguably,' she said, 'we gave Osama bin Laden his Iraqi jihad.'"
