Gilligan went further, reporting that this spin, this "sexed up" version of intelligence, was the result of interventions by Blair's PR henchman, Alistair Campbell.

The ALP says the AEC should force the Liberals to stop the direct-dial campaign because the recorded messages do not carry any official 'authorisation', that bit at the end of election ads where someone says (usually very quickly) "this ad authorised by John Smith, Canberra".
