Iraq Reviews > CIA Trained Scorpions Do "the dirty work" in Iraq
[Economist's View] That I am no longer surprised by stories like this, that I wondered if it was worth posting tells me just how far we've slid down the slippery slope where the ends justify the means. We spent millions of dollars to train the Scorpions, an Iraqi paramilitary group, to aid in the initial war effort.

[The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler] Nope. No *cough* Bias *cough* In The Hallowed Halls of Academia: This teacher Socialist Shitstain in Sheep's Clothing needs to be strapped down to the hood of a Hummer and driven around every one of Sadr City and Fallujah's mosques by remote control. Maybe then he'll get to see, firsthand, how many "holy places" that WEREN'T destroyed when there was every fuckin' reason on the planet TO destroy them.
[Raedinthemiddle.blogspot.com] Raed in the Middle: Oil-rich Iraq Imports Gasoline: We would hope that that would be the Iraqi people, because if we preach democracy, hopefully we will abide by the decision that the Iraqi people in an election reach on their own. That is a message that I think, and I think we speak for many Members on both sides of the aisle here, that yes, the absolute sine qua non, the essential ingredient to a democracy is to give voice to all of the people, not some selected individuals hand-picked by DICK CHENEY, by the CIA, or by anybody else to run the country for the Iraqis, because if that happens, the American taxpayer is going to end up with a much larger bill than we have already assumed.
[Psychoanalystsopposewar.org] Iraq Occupation and Resistance Report: Disclosing that she and many of her fellow women POW's were raped, she appealed to Iraqi resistance to "bomb the prison so as to wipe out the disgrace to your honour which is now growing in our wombs." We hear a lot of stories about vicious and immoral ways of torture and degradation ranging from pouring sweet and sticky oil on POW's naked bodies and leaving them overnight in rural out-door areas to attract insects of various kinds to forcing newly jailed POW"s to stand naked for thirty-six hours and to hear very loud noisy music to raping male and female POW's and killing others in torture.

[Pages.prodigy.net] newsrack blog: An Iraqi police lieutenant, who for obvious reasons asked to remain anonymous, confirmed to me the widespread rumors that a few police officers are perpetrating many of the hundreds of assassinations - mostly of former Baath Party members - that take place in Basra each month. He told me that there is even a sort of 'death car': a white Toyota Mark II that glides through the city streets, carrying off-duty police officers in the pay of extremist religious groups to their next assignment.

[Back-to-iraq.com] Back to Iraq 3.0: Options in Fallujah and about those elections...: Option 3: Iraq suffers a massive civil war in which the majority of the population is annihilated, including the majority or entirety of the Iraqi Kurds and Assyrians - the kind of war which would make Pol Pot look like a saint, Hitler a humanitarian, and the Rwanda/Burundi conflicts little more than a heated argument. The horror of war could result in either Option 1 OR a generation of passifists who pioneer the formation of an effective democracy which ensures that Iraq benefits from effective social, ecological and economic policies.
