Iraq Reviews > Burying Iraq

SICKOFITRADLZhttp://sickofitradlz.blogspot.com/2008/03/burying-iraq.html [SICKOFITRADLZ] The report informs that in 2004, 90.6 percent of Iraqi women surveyed were "optimistic about the future" and that, in 2007, the number stating they were optimistic fell to 26.9 percent. 88 percent of respondents "expressed a great deal of concern that they or someone living in their households would become a victim of violence." In addition, the number stating that the presence of US forces and British forces were making things worse was 65.3 percent and 67.9 percent "stated that their ability to walk down the street as they please has gotten worse since the U.S. invasion." As the illegal war hits the fifth year mark this year, things are not improving, they are only getting worse.

Member Posts[Member Posts] Why Wesley Clark should NOT be VP (or in the cabinet): Wesley Clark has demosntrated a willingness to revise the evidence to portray something more positively (most notably himself in his book "Waging Modern War". It is this willingness to look at information subjectively that led us into Iraq to begin with and I fear electing leaders who look for data to support what they want rather than looking at what conclusion information leads us to.

Liberty For All[Liberty For All] Iraq: Why we’re split: –The Government is in a chess match with what left and Right agree is a Libertarian initiated and led polemic on civil liberties impacts at home and abroad, and has entered a cycle of defensive, dismissive statements in anticipation of Libertarian arguments that have made the US Government of the Democrats and Republicans a laughingstock; a former editor of the New Republic has gone so far as to say Libertarians are the last and best line of defense for civil liberties–Ashcroft has specifically denounced Libertarians while grudgingly promising more attention to them

SOCIALIST UNITY[SOCIALIST UNITY] THE SWP, MARXISTS AND RESPECT by Ger Francis: It is a sociological law that when a centrist zigs it is because the situation called for a zag and with the SWP going all Stalinist third period on us and the right centrists insisting on reformism and popular fronts and dissolution then I think we can safely say that the time is right for making RR a genuine Marxist grouping that is capable of connecting with any emerging vanguard of the working class.

sunniforum.comhttp://www.sunniforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31414 [sunniforum.com] Voting in democratic elections is Kufr: Any Muslim who does not know the reality of Parliament and he votes is sinful because he did seek the divine ruling for his action before committing it, since the Juristic Principle is that every action, verbal or physical, must be based on an Islamic ruling which is derived solely from the Qur’an and Sunnah. Any Muslim who participates in voting for a candidate whether the candidate is Muslim or non-Muslim basing his action on a misled so-called ‘opinion’ from a rationalist or secular clergyman has been misled and the issue must be explained to him/her.
