[BushTracker.net] According to the brief story -- an online search Thursday evening turned up no American media reports on the document -- the insurgency in Iraq is acting as a training grounds for militant Islamists, allowing them to hone a craft involving car bombs, assassinations and coordinated attacks.

Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

Winds of Change.NET[Winds of Change.NET] Good news from Iraq, 13 June 2005: Meanwhile, the Iraqi authorities in Basra are working on a range of water infrastructure projects: "Water Department staff in Al-Basra province continues carrying out new water projects in the province to increase the quantity of potable water pumped daily to citizens of the province in a $40.000.000 cost. http://tempestreborn.blogspot.com [The Faceless Phoenix Won't Dance] Quatro Thingos: I was reading an article about CWO3 Dunfee (my battalion Gunner when I was in 3/4) receiving a Silver Star for valor during a fire fight with insurgents in Iraq. I found myself with an overwhelming sense of shame/desire.

[Colorado Veterans for America] The Death and Life of American Liberalism: The progressive counterparts, Stein calculates, are 19 national groups... of Al Gore and John Kerry trying to take a dollop of each.

Cacciaguidahttp://cacciaguida.blogspot.com [Cacciaguida] PFC Jonathan Lee Morris, USMCR, now with the 4th A...: Special Operations Capable) took the opportunity to hone their combat prowess on a firing range here... have returned from command assignments in Iraq who are on the Joint Staff who would be also terrific briefers, and we'll probably see them from time to time as well....

[Iraq.billhobbs.com] Lance in Iraq: Another tic of the left during the 2004 race was the refrain that the Iraq war had "swollen the ranks of al-Qaida and 'galvanised its will' by increasing radical passions among Muslims." In this odd view, we should not have gone to Iraq because we really stirred up AQ against us. Which begs the question: What was 9/11, a big wet kiss?

Tompaine.com[Tompaine.com] TomPaine.com - Blogs: You'll recall, Bowers wrote "Wrath of the Memo" last month. It's about a dreamed-up article by Hindrocker of Powerline that the "infamous" memo about Schiavo was actually a Democratic plant, and Fox News/Limbaugh and Howard Kurtz all jumped on the bandwagon, dreaming of a Rather-like scalp.

http://www.thisisrumorcontrol.org [Thisisrumorcontrol.org] Lost Hearts & Lost Minds | This Is Rumor Control: Like a lot of people, I read the Washington Post story this Sunday about a young Iraqi man's humiliation by U.S. troops with a sense of disappointment that -- because of our actions -- the insurgency in Iraq had grown by at least one. What was even more disappointing, when I thought about it, was that the story didn't cause me any shock or disbelief.

[Iraqwarnews.net] Iraq War Today: A Shiite alliance won a slim majority in Iraq's new National Assembly, according to certified election returns announced Thursday, but it may take weeks to form a government. Meanwhile, interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi cautioned against excluding all Saddam Hussein's supporters.
