[Big Lizards:Blog:Main] Iraq Army, Coalition Begin Mahdi Militia... : In a statement on Monday about the raid, the American command did not vary much from its original public account Sunday night. It maintained that Iraqi and American troops had raided "multiple structures" but not a mosque, as Shiite leaders have contended, and that troops received fire from "several buildings near the target area."
