[ Today's Comment - GARART Reality Not Spin] We seem to be blind to the fact that in areas of the Islamic world an aberrant adhesion to tribe, sheik, mullah and fundamentalist religious doctrine, not only to the teachings of the Koran, but its interpretation by radical clerics inhibits the region’s socio-economic development. Historically, this current fissure among Islamic fundamentalist and more Westernized elements is a none to familiar historical phenomenon.

These and many very anti humanism elements are there in Koran which are brushed over by many a moderate muslims to any non muslim -who wants to contradict these- to "gloss overs".
