"The War Behind Closed Doors"

Expelling Iran will Facilitate 'Clash of Civilisations'

http://the-heretic.blogspot.com [the HERETIC] detract the attention of the ”˜Terrorists!’ and the rest of the global citizenry from the true source of the problem which is that of the existence of the nation-state as it gradually contextualises this conflict in terms of one between deviant states and legitimate ones and thus facilitate the mutation of this conflict into a ”˜clash of civilisations’; strengthen the other nationally located discontents and provide them with a new point of allegiance whilst being nationally dislocated, and finally complement the militant body of Al Qaeda with a state.

[Baghdad Dweller] The public prosecution department has admitted receiving similar reports on behalf of the Iraqi reformation departments (prisons) and the Human Rights ministry, which indicate the occurrence of similar violations, such as beating, torture and rape, which female detainees have undergone at interior ministry centers. Widen the probe?

[ReidBlog] Still, there are reasons to think Fitzgerald might have "lying to Congress" in mind -- particularly the news from the Italian press that the forged document accusing Saddam Hussein of trying to acquire yellow cake uranium from Niger may have been brought into the White House by none other than Stephen Hadley -- the sitting National Security Advisor and then aide to Condoleezza Rice. Clearly, the goal of the Veep's office in smearing Wilson and attempting to tie his Niger trip to nepotism was to defuse what could have been an explosive storyline: that Dick Cheney, Condi Rice and even the president, knowingly presented a false case to Congress and to the American people that Iraq posed a potential nuclear threat to the United States.

Nigergate?
