Report on the June 28-29 National Assembly conference in Cleveland
[Northland Anti-War Coalition] Ensured that it was action oriented by urging support for demonstrations at the Republican and Democratic Party conventions (September 1-4, 2008 and August 25-28, 2008 respectively), other actions preceding the elections -- especially those called for October 11 -- and proposing December 9-14 as dates for local actions across the country demanding the immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. These December actions provide the best potential for uniting the entire movement in the months ahead.

[A Hillary (former) Democrat] Ivo Daalder and Phil Gordon were signatories to the now-defunct Project for the New American Century, the organization staffed by neoconservatives who where instrumental in guiding the United States into war with Saddam's Iraq. Where is the American Left's outrage with this?

US Senate Approves Iraq, Afghanistan War Funding

[THE AIR FORCE PUNDIT] In a Washington Post interview, CIA Director Michael Hayden said we're witnessing the "near strategic defeat of al Qaeda in Iraq." The Bush administration has taken heaps of abuse for its Iraq policy, including its decision to launch the "surge" last December. Now the strategy, which our nation's "best and brightest" regularly dismissed as a failure, has cleared the way for the establishment of a secure democracy in Iraq and a lasting peace.

Senators Remove Their Own Statements From Report on Pre-War Iraq ...
[Flopping Aces] The Senate Intelligence Committee finally released it’s long-awaited/overdue report on their investigation into pre-war intelligence on Saddam’s Iraq. This final report was supposed to look at statements made by government officials in the run up to war from 1991-2003. It was supposed to examine the pre-war marketing or threat assessment and descriptions to the public about the intelligence regarding the threat posed by Saddam’s regime. Instead, the report looked at just 5 Bush Administration speeches. It completely left out any and all comments from Pres Bush Sr, Pres Clinton, anyone in his administration, and every member of the House and Senate over a twelve year period. The Committee determined that nothing any of those people ever said was as important and moving to the American people as 5 speechifications from President Bush and his administration.
